MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will increase releases from Bull Shoals Dam Feb. 8, to continue evacuation of stored flood water.

On Feb. 8, the Corps will increase releases from 27,000 cubic feet per second to 30,000 c.f.s using a combination of spillway and hydropower turbine releases. Water downstream of the dam will rise from six inches to nine inches with the 30,000 c.f.s. release.

The Corps made a similar release in mid-January and advises property owners downstream of Bull Shoals Lake to make necessary preparations now for the higher release planned for next week by ensuring that docks are properly anchored and maintained and remove any temporary encroachments from the floodplain.

Daily lake information can be obtained at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Corps’ mobile App which can be found in mobile App stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.
