LITTLE ROCK, Ark – The Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public workshop to provide details on the completion of a munitions remedial action at the former Camp Robinson. The workshop will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Hampton Inn conference room, 810 Museum Rd, Conway, Ark.

The former Camp Robinson was used as an infantry division-training center and later as an infantry replacement training area.  Troops were trained with rifles, pistols, machine guns, live grenades, mortars, and various pieces of field artillery.

The remedial actions project took place north of Highway 89 at the east end of Moody Road, and along Stone Mountain Road near the intersection with Dreamers Lane. Anyone living on or owning land within the removal area at the former Camp Robinson is encouraged to attend the workshop.

Representatives from the Corps of Engineers and their contractors will present information about the completed removal activities. These representatives will be available to answer questions.
