RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Project Office has announced that Piney Bay swim beach on Lake Dardanelle has been cleared of higher than acceptable E. coli levels. Water samples from the swim beach have been retested and determined that it is safe for public use.

The swim beach was temporary closed because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.   According to Corps officials, the high bacteria level could be from run-off following recent heavy rains.

For more information about recreation areas on Lake Dardanelle Lake call the Russellville Project Office at 479-858-7129, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
