LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers' Little Rock District is seeking public comments through July 27 on environmental documents relating to a flood risk reduction study along Prairie Creek and tributaries in Russellville, Ark.

The proposed work would widen a 2.2 mile portion of Prairie Creek and widen the channel at the Union Pacific’s railroad bridge at Engineer’s Ditch to reduce flooding in the area.

The documents are a Draft Feasibility Report, a Draft Environmental Assessment and a Draft Finding of No Significant Impact.  The draft documents indicate the proposed work would cause no significant adverse effects to the human environment, and an Environmental Impact Statement would not be required.
