MKARNS Nav Notice SWL15-33 USCG River Closure NM 118-NM 116

Mariners are advised that the U.S. Coast Guard has closed the Arkansas River between Navigation Miles 118.0 and 116.0.  This area is between Murray Lock (No. 7) and David D. Terry Lock (No. 6).  The river is closed to all vessels for salvage operations due to a natural gas steel pipeline rupturing in the river.  Mariners are advised to contact Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River for any updates on VHF-FM Channel 16 or by telephone 901-521-4822 for any further information.
