MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Mountain Home Project Office announced that Oakland Park swim beach has been cleared of higher than acceptable E. coli levels.
Once the lake levels drop, the swim beach will again be open to the public.
The swim beach was temporary closed because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.
The swim beach has been retested and officials have determined that it is safe for public use.
According to Corps officials, the high bacteria level could be from run-off following recent heavy rains.
