ROGERS, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers is reminding interested persons three public open houses will be held March 10-12 in Fayetteville, Rogers and Eureka Springs to discuss the master plan update process and seek input from the public on the draft Beaver Lake Master Plan. All interested persons are invited.

The drop-in open houses are from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at the Fayetteville Town Center in Fayetteville, Ark.; Wednesday, March 11 at the First Baptist Church—Olive Street Campus Activity Center in Rogers, Ark.; and Thursday, March 12 at the Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Corps’ master plans set the vision for all use and development of a project’s federal public lands and waters surrounding our reservoirs, recognizing the ongoing activities of others in the watershed; specifically, environmental stewardship and recreation related purposes.

At the drop-in open houses, a short informational video will be played at 20 minute intervals, providing multiple opportunities for the public to learn more about the master plan revision process.

Representatives from the Corps of Engineers will be present to answer questions on the master plan revision process and to explain the difference between a master plan and a shoreline management plan. Anyone with any interest in the future management of Beaver Lake is encouraged to attend and participate.

The public’s input may be provided at the workshops or at any time during the public comment period. The comment period will run from March 2 through April 3.  Comments can be mailed to:  Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, ATTN: Dana Coburn, P.O. Box 867, Little Rock, Ark., 72203.  Faxed to 501-324-5605, ATTN: Dana Coburn; or, email your comments to CESWL-BeaverLakeMasterPlan@usace.army.mil.
