Russellville, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Project Office reopened Shoal Bay swim beach on Lake Dardanelle.  The beach was temporarily closed last month because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.  Officials have retested the swim beach and determined that it is safe for public use.

According to Corps officials, the high bacteria level may have been the result of run-off following heavy rains which is typical in agricultural areas.
