RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Russellville Project Office and the Arkansas Wildlife Federation will close Bigelow Park May 19 because of lack of volunteers and funding.  The day-use area and boat launch ramp have been operated and maintained by federation volunteers under a lease agreement with the Corps since 2012.

The federation will continue to operate Delaware and Cane Creek parks under the current lease agreement with the Corps.

The Corps is looking for another federal, state, local agency or not for profit organization to lease the park.

The boat launch ramps at Highway 113, Cypress Creek or Toad Suck parks are the closest alternate ramps available for public use.

For more information, please call the Russellville Project Office at 479-968-5008.
