HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineer’s William Carl Garner Visitor Center, on Greers Ferry Lake will open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. beginning Monday, March 17.
From May 17 through Sept. 7 the visitor center will be open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. seven days a week and will return to weekdays only Sept. 8.
Two short videos, “A Saga of the Little Red” and “A Dam Story” by Shelton Jacobs will be available for viewing. Each video showcases the history of Greers Ferry Lake, the dam, power plant, and the surrounding area. Displays and exhibits also highlight the early exploration of the area and the events that led to the building of Greers Ferry Dam, including detailed information on the purpose and history of the Greers Ferry Project.
