5 CORPS CAMPGROUNDS AVAILABLE THROUGH OCTOBER ON TABLE ROCK LAKE

Published Sept. 16, 2013

Branson, Mo. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Table Rock Project Office reminds visitors that the recreation season for five parks at Table Rock Lake continues through October.

Camping is available at Campbell Point, Cape Fair, Indian Point, Mill Creek and Old 86 parks until November 1.

Per the normal annual schedule, the recreation season ended September 15 for Moonshine Beach Day Use Area, as well as Aunts Creek, Baxter, Big M, Cricket Creek, Eagle Rock, Long Creek, Viney Creek, and Viola parks.  Boat launch ramps at all Corps facilities to include Moonshine Beach Day Use Area are open year round.

As a result of the Corps’ recent termination of the cooperative joint management agreement with the Ozarks Rivers Heritage Foundation there were public concerns about the future of the Table Rock Lake area parks.  All parks will remain open per their normal recreation schedule.  The Little Rock District contracted the same contractors the foundation used and augmented with Corps rangers to ensure the public would be able to enjoy the parks through October 31.

“In this transition, we wanted to ensure that the public was not affected and that we will honor all reservations for camping spaces.  I would also like to stress that the foundation has done nothing wrong,” said Little Rock District Commander Col. Courtney W. Paul. “The Corps had to terminate the agreement in order to comply with the law.”
