The Coast Guard has established a Safety Zone for the Arkansas River on June 1, 2013, from mile marker 124.0 to 118.0, in support of the Arkansas River Canoe and Kayak Race. The Safety Zone will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mariners shall not transit, anchor, stop, remain or drift without power at any time within this Safety Zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Lower Mississippi River. Vessels may contact the Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River on VHF-FM Channel 16 or toll free at (866) 777-2784 for more information.
