RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fall is quickly approaching and with it the end of the summer recreation season at Russellville Project Office parks. There are still several days to enjoy all that the river has to offer. Cooler temperatures allow visitors to take advantage of many recreational opportunities with a more relaxing approach.
As the recreation season winds down, so does the number of available campsites around the project. Many of our parks will end services on Oct. 31 and reopen March 2013.

For those of you who like to plan ahead, it’s not too early to start making plans for next year. The 2013 reservation season begins on March 1 for all of the parks at the Russellville Project Office. Camping will be limited to a first-come, first-served basis outside of those dates, except Maumelle Park which is reservable year-round. Since reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance, it is easy to ensure your favorite campsite is reserved for the busy holiday weekends.
To ensure a developed campsite will be available upon your arrival, call the National Recreation Reservation Service at 1-877-444-6777 or visit the website at www.recreation.gov and make your reservations in advance.
