USACE to partially reopen Cranfield Park

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, will partially reopen Cranfield Park recreation area on Norfork Lake Aug. 29, 2025.

USACE closed the park earlier this year because of high water and ongoing improvement work to roads and parking areas.

The reopening includes a new boat ramp parking area that can accommodate up to 100 vehicles with trailers, along with additional parking for vehicles without trailers.

The campground is open and accepting reservations online at www.recreation.gov. However, the swim beach and day-use areas remain closed because of flood damage and ongoing construction.

“We know the closures have been an inconvenience, but these improvements will make the park safer and more accessible for everyone,” said Dylan Edwards, chief ranger.
