Temporary closure of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam scheduled

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will temporarily close Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 12–14.

The full road closure is necessary to conduct maintenance work. Officials have coordinated the closure with local emergency and law enforcement agencies and regret any inconvenience it may cause.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes during this time. Access to locations on Highway 178 beyond the dam will require a detour using Highway 178 to Highway 5, then Highway 126 through Midway and Gassville, or Highway 62/412 through Flippin and Highway 178 through the town of Bull Shoals.
