LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -‑ The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Recent heavy rainfall in Western Arkansas will cause Arkansas River flows to exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second systemwide over the next few days.

Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 c.f.s. Strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft during high flows.

Current flows between Dardanelle Lock and Dam and Wilbur D. Mills Lock and Dam are between 55,000 and 75,000 c.f.s. A crest between 70,000 and 90,000 c.f.s will make its way downstream over the next few days.

Daily river information can be obtained at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Little Rock District’s mobile App, which can be found in mobile App stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.

Recreation information can be found on the Internet at www.swl.usace.army.mil, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/littlerockusace and on X at www.X.com/usacelittlerock.
