RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces temporary shoreline activity request moratorium at Lake Dardanelle
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Russellville Site Office will suspend shoreline activity requests beginning February 1 to establish a baseline for officials to use while updating the lake’s 12-year-old shoreline management plan.
Shoreline activity requests will not be accepted during the shoreline management plan update and all zoning and shoreline management regulations will remain in effect until the plan is complete.
Public workshops will be held to inform the public about the process used to update the shoreline management plan. The workshops will also allow project personnel to gather information from residents and lake users. The locations, dates and times of these workshops will be announced in early 2025.
At the public workshops, representatives from USACE will be present to answer questions on the shoreline management plan update process. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The shoreline management plan for Lake Dardanelle establishes policy and furnishes guidelines for the protection and preservation of the desirable environmental characteristics of the shoreline while maintaining a balance between public and private shoreline use.
