DEQUEEN, Ark. -- USACE seeks volunteers for shoreline cleanup
DEQUEEN, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and local partners invite community members to participate in the De Queen Lake Shoreline Cleanup on Oct. 26, 2024.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Oak Grove Boat Ramp located at 612 Rink Road, De Queen, AR., for shoreline cleanup, and will continue to campsite #40 at Pine Ridge Park for trail work.
Volunteers will receive trash bags, cleanup supplies and location assignments for both shoreline and trail work.
Participants are encouraged to bring personal snacks and water, as well as pick-up sticks or grabbers for efficient litter collection. Attendees should dress in loose, breathable clothing and wear sunscreen, insect repellent and closed-toed shoes to ensure comfort and safety throughout the day.
Volunteers will focus on collecting debris and litter, with all collected materials to be returned to the boat ramp for proper disposal after the event.
Following the cleanup, a complimentary lunch will be provided, and volunteers will have the opportunity to receive a free T-shirt while supplies last. Youth participants will also enjoy water safety giveaways.
