Mobility impaired deer hunt applications available at Clearwater Lake

PIEDMONT, Mo. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Clearwater Lake Project Office, announces that applications are available for their annual mobility impaired deer hunt for non-ambulatory hunters as well as our annual deer hunt for veterans with service-related disabilities. Both hunts will take place on the same dates Nov. 6 and 7 2024.  

Mobility-impaired hunt applicants must be non-ambulatory individuals with permanent physical conditions severely affecting mobility due to paralysis or lower extremity amputation. They require assistance from wheelchairs, braces, crutches, or similar aids. Veteran applicants must have service-related disabilities. Each hunt allows three permits, allowing one deer per hunter.

Apply online at the Clearwater Lake Project Office website: https://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Lakes/Clearwater-Lake/ or download and complete a printable application and submit it via fax, email, or mail by Sept. 30.

The Clearwater Lake Project Office has hosted this special hunt for 22 years. It helps manage the deer herd around Clearwater Lake by reducing overpopulation and maintaining a healthier overall deer population.
