ROGERS, Ark. -- ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is closing the swim beach at Hickory Creek until further notice.
The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by project office personnel.
USACE has posted signs indicating high bacteria levels at the swim beach. Park rangers will reopen the swim beach when test results indicate bacteria levels are within an acceptable range.
USACE would also like to remind everyone that the Prairie Creek and Horseshoe Bend Campgrounds and Day Use areas remain closed. The areas were closed following the May 2024 storms. One boat launch ramp in each park remains open to the public.
