ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is closing Rocky Branch, Horseshoe Bend, and Prairie Creek campgrounds and picnic areas for safety reasons following last night’s destructive storms.

Excessive amounts of debris, downed trees, and exposed powerlines are major factors contributing to the decision to close the parks. The boat launch ramps will remain open.

The closures will also allow USACE staff and affected visitors time to clear debris and remove damaged vehicles and campers.

Staff at the Beaver Lake Project Office is notifying and refunding visitors with reservations about the closure. The closure is expected to last seven days if not more to ensure the parks are safe and ready for visitors.

We regret any inconveniences this may cause but believe the closures are necessary to ensure park safety.

For more information, please contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District Public Affairs Office at 479-636-1210 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
