ROGERS, Ark. -- ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office has reopened swim beaches at Hickory Creek, Horseshoe Bend Campground, Indian Creek, Lost Bridge South, Prairie Creek, Rocky Branch Day Use, Rocky Branch Campground, War Eagle, and Horseshoe Bend Day Use Area located on Beaver Lake.
The swimming beach at Dam Site Island remains closed due to higher than acceptable E. coli levels. The beach will remain closed until test results indicate bacteria levels are within an acceptable range.
Two acceptable water samples from each beach are required by the Health Department prior to reopening a swim beach. The temporary closures were the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.
