LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public input on the draft Nimrod Lake and Blue Mountain Lake Master Plans and Environmental Assessments. Public comment for the draft MPs and EAs will be held from May 8 to June 8, 2024.

USACE will hold an in-person workshop to explain the Draft MPs and EAs. The workshop is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 21 at the Danville First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 1009 Main Street, Danville, AR.

The public is encouraged to stop by at any time during the scheduled workshop.  Representatives from USACE will be available to answer questions and maps will be displayed to provide an overview of the revisions. This will be the final public outreach engagement for the Nimrod Lake and Blue Mountain Lake Master Plan revision process before the final master plan completion date which is estimated to be in early 2025. USACE will notify the public once plans have been approved.

USACE master plans set the vision for all use and development of a project’s federal public lands and waters, while recognizing the ongoing activities of others in the watershed; specifically, environmental stewardship and recreation related purposes.

Comments will be accepted during the in-person workshops, by mail addressed to Nimrod Lake and Blue Mountain Lake MP Planner, Natural Resources Management Section, USACE, Little Rock District, P.O. Box 867, Little Rock, AR 72203 and by e-mail to CESWL-Nimrod_BlueMountainMPRevision@usace.army.mil. Comments submitted via mail or email must be dated before June 8, 2024.
