USACE and AGFC offer free boating course

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a free boater education course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 13 at the James A. Gaston Visitor Center at Bull Shoals Dam.

This course is required for any boat operator born after Jan. 1,1986 and recommended for all boaters. The course will cover general boating and water safety, boat operation and maintenance, trailing a vessel, and state specific boating laws.

All attendees should bring a pen and paper, drinks, snacks, and a sack lunch.

Those wishing to attend can preregister for the course at www.agfc.com/education/boater-education/.

The James A. Gaston Visitor Center is located at 153 Dam Overlook Lane, Bull Shoals, AR 72619 and is open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
