Due to the threat of severe weather, there will be no work performed at Lock 1 on December 13. The concrete placement that was supposed to take place on December 13 is now tentatively scheduled to take place on December 19. Exact date and resulting extension of the closure period for that concrete placement will be communicated in a subsequent navigation notice.
The extension to the closure for today, December 12, is still in effect. As of now, the closure is extended until 10 p.m. tonight, however that extension could be shortened or lengthened depending on when the required concrete strength is obtained. Mariners are advised to contact the lock to obtain the current lock status.
When the concrete work is completed and the lock re-opens, it is scheduled to remain open until 6:59 a.m., December 16. There will be no daily closure periods on December 13, 14 and 15. Beginning December 16, the closure period will revert to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.
Questions or requests for additional information concerning this notice should be directed to the Little Rock District Office at (501) 324-5096 or you may email CESWL-OP-OM@usace.army.mil.
