On December 12 and December 13, the closure period at Lock 1 will be from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The extension to the daily closure schedule is to allow adequate time for the concrete which will be placed in the centerpost pits, to obtain the appropriate strength. This work is expected to be completed as scheduled, however unforeseen issues could require additional time. Mariners are advised to contact the locks to obtain the current lock status.
When the concrete work is completed and the lock re-opens, it is scheduled to remain open until 6:59 a.m., December 16. There will be no daily closure periods on December 14 and December 15. Beginning December 16, the closure period will revert to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.
