PLAINVIEW—Ark. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nimrod-Blue Mountain Project Office is repairing and upgrading several areas around Nimrod Lake for the upcoming recreation season.

Sunlight Bay Park is undergoing electrical and water repairs in portions of the campground. This work will upgrade all sites to provide 50-amp electric service and will bring individual water hydrants closer to most campsite turnouts. Normally, the park opens for camping on March 1, but due to the ongoing work, the campground will remain closed through March 31 or until the work is completed, weather permitting.

The Sunlight Bay Park boat ramp remains open and available for public use.

The steel bridge boat ramp at Wards Crossing is currently closed and a new boat ramp is being constructed downstream. Once the construction of the new boat ramp is complete, the old boat ramp will remain closed to launching, but visitors will be able to use it for bank fishing. Alternative boat ramp locations can be found at Sunlight Bay Park or Rover Landing.

All other park facilities at Nimrod Lake that are currently closed for the winter will reopen for the recreation season on March 1.
