MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark.- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office is offering 50 free fish cover permits on Bull Shoals Lake on a first-come, first- served basis.

A fish cover permit allows individuals to cut up to six cedar trees, with the trees being six inches or smaller in diameter at the stump, from designated areas of the shoreline.

Individuals may also pick up dead trees or branches along the shore and sink them into the lake for fish habitat as well.

The fish cover permits will be available starting at 9 a.m. Jan. 12.

Permits will only be issued by phone because of COVID-19 restrictions. To reserve one of the permits call 501-340-1444. If no one answers leave a message and your call will be returned in the order it was received.
