POOL 10 CHANGE IN WATER ELEVATION AND
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS STARTING OCTOBER 14, 2019
MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM
Starting October 14, 2019 the pool 10 water elevation will change to 338.2, as measured at Dardanelle Lock & Dam (No. 10). This change is necessary for scheduled maintenance at Arkansas Nuclear One.
Mariners are reminded to use caution and to draft no more than 9 feet. The existing pool 10 sailing instructions have been reviewed, with changes as follows:
NM 221.7 to 222.5 – Run the red line of the currently buoyed temporary channel. Continue limiting tows through this temporary channel to no more than 70 feet wide (the width of 2 standard barges) and 3 standard barges long, and no passing.
NM 232.5 to 233.5 –Run the red line, no passing (unchanged from Nav Notice SWL 19-74)
NM 248.0 to 250.0 – Run the green line, no passing (unchanged from Nav Notice SWL 19-75)
NM 256.5 to 256.8 – Run the red line, no passing (unchanged from Nav Notice SWL 19-72)

Corps of Engineers floating plant continue to work at NM 222, and a contract dredge is expected to start work at NM 222 later in October.
