ROGERS, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Beaver Project Office will be hosting a ribbon cutting event at 10 a.m. on July 17 for the playground at the Horseshoe Bend campground on Beaver Lake.
The new playground equipment was purchased and donated by the Beaver Lake Foundation and the Corps had the equipment installed.
The Corps entered into a cooperative agreement with the Beaver Lake Foundation in 2013 to support authorized missions of the lake such as recreation and natural resource management. This partnership allows for activities such as assisting in interpretive programs, improvement to park facilities and establishing native trees on project lands.
“The cooperative agreement with Beaver Lake Foundation is a partnership that multiplies and expands our ability to make needed improvements at Beaver Lake’ said Sean Harper, Operations Project Manager for Beaver Lake. “The Foundation and the Corps can partner on projects directly and accomplish what we would not otherwise be able to do. On this occasion, Beaver Lake Foundation has donated a new playground which will be a significant improvement to the Horseshoe Bend Campground. We appreciate the contributions and efforts of the Beaver Lake Foundation and their support of recreational facilities which will benefit all lake visitors.”
