UPDATE - POSSIBLE OBSTRUCTION IN NAVIGATION PASS

MONTGOMERY POINT LOCK AND DAM (NM 0.5)

MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM

Mariners are advised that, until further notice, no passing should occur when transiting the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam navigation pass.  Both upbound and downbound tows should favor the lock wall side of the navigation pass, staying 75 feet away from the lock wall poles.

Before using the pass, mariners should contact Montgomery Point Lock and Dam on Channel 16 for current information.  Between the hours of 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM each day, mariners should contact Norrell Lock & Dam (No. 1) NM 10.3 on Channel 16 for this same information.

The Little Rock District will conduct a hydrographic survey of the navigation pass area late this week in an effort to locate the knocked-over 45’ long light pole.

This Navigation Notice will be updated as more information becomes available.  Questions or requests for additional information concerning this notice should be directed to the Little Rock District Office, at (501) 324-5739 or you may email CESWL-OP-OM@usace.army.mil.
