MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – Visitors to Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes are reminded that many Corps recreation areas and access points are impacted because of recent heavy rains and rising lake levels.

Visitors are advised to use caution at flooded recreation areas, boat launch ramps, and some access roads around the lakes.

When boating near the shore, beware of hidden underwater hazards that you would not normally expect in the water such as sign posts, picnic tables, table canopies and other structures often found in a campground or picnic area.

Additionally, be on the lookout for possible debris in the lake.  It can be floating on the surface or just below the surface of the lake.   Be extremely careful at night, as obstructions are even more difficult to see.  Remember to always wear your kill switch and wear your life jacket.

Daily lake information can be obtained at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Corps’ mobile App which can be found in mobile App stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.
