CORPS’ LITTLE ROCK DISTRICT NAMES NEW DEPUTY FOR PROGRAMS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT DIVISION

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Craig Pierce has been named the Deputy District Engineer for Program and Project Management for the Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District.  Pierce replaces Dr. Randy Hathaway who retired after 36 years of distinguished service.

In his new job, Pierce serves as the district’s senior civilian and deputy to the district commander in an organization with a civilian workforce of about 700 professionals.  He is responsible for oversight of the district’s civil works program which includes flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, water supply, recreation, regulatory and emergency management. 

He also oversees delivery of engineering, construction, and renovation programs for our local military installations, for Army and Air Force medical facility throughout the nation, and for other federal, state, and local agencies within our district.

He has more than 14 years of federal service with the Little Rock District in various positions.  His previous assignment was chief of Engineering and Construction Division.  Pierce’s engineering career also includes work in a private engineering firm along with several years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force.

Pierce holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.  He is a registered professional engineer in Arkansas and a certified Project Management Professional.
