CORPS PARKS ALONG ARKANSAS RIVER PREPARE FOR WINTER SEASON

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The first week of November marks the end of the 2017 recreation season for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pine Bluff Site Office.  Several parks along the Arkansas River from Little Rock east to Tichnor will be fully or partially closed for the winter.

Willow Beach Park in North Little Rock will remain open for camping and day use, however, G and H areas will be closed. Tar Camp Park at Redfield will be closed to camping, however, the boat ramp and day use areas outside of the gate will be available to the public. Rising Star Park near Moscow will be closed to camping with the boat ramp remaining open. Trulock, Ste. Marie, Notrebes Bend, and Wilbur D. Mills will all be closed. At Merrisach Lake Park near Tichnor, only E area will close on December 1st. It is important to note that the campgrounds remaining open will be staffed by contracted gate attendants working 2 days a week. Camping will be first come first served only.

 All parks will reopen March 1, 2018, marking the beginning of peak recreation season.  For more information, please contact the Pine Bluff Site Office at (870) 534-0451.
