CORPS TO CELEBRATE 75th ANNIVERSARY OF NIMROD LAKE AND DAM

PLAINVIEW, Ark. – Officials at the Army Corps of Engineers Nimrod Project Office invite you to the 75th anniversary celebration of Nimrod Dam, 1:00 p.m. Wednesday June 14.

 The celebration will be held at the River Road Park group picnic shelter adjacent to the Nimrod Dam off State Highway 60.

Colonel Robert Dixon, Little Rock District Commander, will be the keynote speaker. Scheduled speakers include: Mary Bentley, state representative, Kevin McDaniels, chief of Little Rock District’s Operations Division, and Mark Green, deputy operations project manager, Nimrod-Blue Mountain Project Office.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, refreshments will be served.

People traveling to the ceremony on State Highway 7 will travel 45 miles north from Hot Springs or travel 28 miles south from Russellville then should turn west on State Highway 60 at Fourche Junction (intersection of Arkansas Highways 7 and 60) and proceed approximately 100 yards to Nimrod Dam Drive, entrance road to Nimrod Dam.

People traveling to the ceremony on State Highway 60 should travel nine miles east of Plainview or 26 miles west of Perryville to Nimrod Dam Drive, entrance road to Nimrod Dam.  Parking will be provided in the parking lot at Nimrod Dam.
