CORPS TO STEP DOWN RELEASES THROUGH SPILLWAY AT BULL SHOALS DAM

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will decrease spillway releases Monday and Tuesday from Bull Shoals Dam.

At 10 a.m. Monday, seven gates at one-half foot were closed leaving 10 spillway gates opened to 1 foot each releasing about 10,000 cubic feet per second. The total release of spillway gates and hydropower turbines will be about 24,200 c.f.s.

At 4 p.m. Monday, five spillway gates will be reduced from 1 foot to one-half foot each resulting in five gates at 1 foot and five gates at one-half foot each for a total spillway release of 7,500 c.f.s. The total release of spillway gates and hydropower turbines will be about 21,700 c.f.s.

On Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., five spillway gates will closed and five gates will remain open at 1 foot each for a total spillway release of 5,000 c.f.s. The total release of spillway gates and hydropower turbines will be about 19,200 c.f.s.

On Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. the remaining five spillway gates will be closed.  The hydropower release will be about 14,200 c.f.s.

The five operating hydropower turbines will remain at full capacity.  Three units are offline for maintenance. The total hydropower turbines releases will be about 14,200 c.f.s.
