ROGERS, Ark. – Visitors to Beaver Lake are reminded that many Corps facilities remain closed because of recent heavy rains and high lake levels.

The following parks have partial closures: Dam Site (Lake), Indian Creek, Lost Bridge South, Rocky Branch, Horseshoe Bend, and Hickory Creek.  These parks may have campsites available even though parts of the parks are closed.

Additionally, one of the boat launch ramps at Horseshoe Bend Park is currently closed but all other ramps are open.

All visitors to Beaver Lake are advised that when boating near the shore, beware of hidden underwater hazards because of the high water.  Boaters should go slowly and be extra cautious to avoid objects they would not normally expect in the water.  Look for sign posts, picnic tables, table canopies and other structures often found in a campground or picnic area.

Swimming or wading into the lake may be hazardous until water levels have dropped closer to the top of the conservation pool – elevation 1,120.  Be aware that floating logs, trees, trash and debris of all sizes could be anywhere in the lake for the next several months.  Be extremely careful at night, as obstructions are even more difficult to see.

Daily lake information can be obtained at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Corps’ mobile App which can be found in mobile App stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.
