LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -  The Army Corps of Engineers warns the public that flows on the Arkansas River are anticipated to reach flows similar to previous high water events because of anticipated rainfall this weekend..

A small craft advisory was issued April 18.  During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. 

The National Weather Service have forecasted flows at Trimble Lock and Dam near Fort Smith are expected to reach 200,000 c.f.s. early on Sunday. Flows at Dardanelle Lock and Dam at Russellville are expected to reach 310,000 c.f.s late Sunday. Flows at Murray Lock and Dam at Little Rock are expected to reach 250,000 on Tuesday.  Flows at Mills Dam at Arkansas Post are anticipated to reach 250,000 on Wednesday.
