HUFFS ISLAND PARK ON ARKANSAS RIVER CLOSED FOR REPAIRS

Published Dec. 29, 2016

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers' Pine Bluff Site Office is advising the public that Huffs Island Park on the Arkansas River is closed for repairs until further notice.

A sinkhole has re-formed under the access road making it unsafe for vehicular traffic. For safety concerns, the park will remain closed until the road is repaired.

This road had a similar closure in September 2015 but was reopened earlier this year after a temporary repair was made.

The Pine Bluff Site Office staff apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to make permanent repairs.

For information about other recreation areas on the Arkansas River visit www.swl.usace.army.mil or call the Pine Bluff Site Office at 870-534-0451, weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
