Army Corps of Engineers Organizing Litter Pickup for September 10 for Norfork Lake

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – Volunteers are needed to participate in the National Public Lands Day annual fall litter pickup at Norfork Lake on Saturday, Sept. 10. 

The cleanup is being held in conjunction with the Great Arkansas Cleanup, the annual fall statewide litter pickup campaign promoted by Keep Arkansas Beautiful. 

Everyone in the Twin Lakes area is encouraged to participate in this year’s litter-pickup effort. Civic and service organizations, church and youth groups, school groups and clubs, scouts, individuals, families, neighborhoods, and businesses can organize cleanup teams and pitch in.

Trash bags and supplies will be provided.  Volunteers may bring work gloves if they wish. 

This year’s local cleanup is sponsored by the Army Corps of Engineers, Jordan Marina, Quarry Marina, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, Keep America Beautiful and Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation.
