CORPS EXTENDS DRAWDOWN AND TEMPORARILY CLOSES TWO PARKS DURING DAM INSPECTION

The Army Corps of Engineers will extend the drawdown of Millwood Lake until Sept. 7 while it completes bank stabilization work at Cottonshed Park and begins inspecting Millwood Dam.

River Run East and River Run West parks will close at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 5 and remain closed through Sept. 13 while the dam is being inspected. Alternative camping and boat launching facilities are available at Beard’s Bluff, Beard’s Lake, and Yarborough Landing parks.
