Lake Fishing

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has stocked almost every game fish native to the state in the lake. The lake supports healthy populations of:

  • Bass: Black bass varieties

Courtesy docks at designated launching ramps around the lake have been provided by various organizations for the benefit of all boaters.

Little Red River Trout Fishing

The Little Red River, downstream of Greers Ferry Dam, is known world-wide as a premier trout fishery. The river is home to several trout species including brown, brook, cutthroat and rainbow.

World Record: A world record brown trout (1992 – 2009) weighing 40 lb. 4 oz. was taken from the river in 1992.

Trout fishing on the Little Red River makes for exciting memories every day of the year. The cold, clear waters released from Greers Ferry Dam create ideal conditions for trophy trout.

Whether you fish every day, once a month or once a year, Greers Ferry provides angling excitement all year long.
