⚡ Hydropower Generation
Seven hydropower facilities generate clean, renewable energy: Beaver, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Norfork, and Greers Ferry dams in the White River Basin, plus Ozark and Dardanelle locks and dams on the Arkansas River.
Electricity for 200,000 households annually
Annual benefits: $206.5 million
🚢 Navigation Support
Thirteen locks and dams on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System provide navigation for approximately 300 miles with a total vertical lift of about 280 feet, including the reliable Montgomery Point Lock & Dam added in 2004.
Average annual cargo: 11.3 million tons
🎣 Recreation & Wildlife
Corps lakes and parks support a robust tourism-based regional economy, consistently ranking in the top five Corps districts nationwide for project visitation. Our projects provide world-class hunting and fishing opportunities, including World Record Brown Trout waters.
