  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 25-61 Lock 9 Sailing Instructions Lifted

    The sailing instructions for the downstream approach to Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9, noted in Nav Notice SWL 24-19 have been lifted.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 25-60 Lock 10 Reopened

    The mechanical issues at Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5 have been resolved and the lock is opened to traffic.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 25-58 Safety Zone Military Exercise NM 289.0 – NM 292.8

    To ensure the safety of life and property during the military river crossing exercise, a Safety Zone will be established by the U.S. Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from NM 289.0 to NM 292.8.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice 25-59 Lock 10 Unscheduled Closure

    Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5 is currently closed to traffic due to dangerous cross currents downstream of the dam. The spillway release configuration is currently restricted due to mechanical issues resulting in concentrated flows that present a danger to traffic in the downstream approach. Crews are onsite and an additional notice will be submitted when the issue is resolved.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice 25-57 Caution Advisory - HWY 64 Bridge NM 300.4

    Mariners are advised that a hydrodemolition project is scheduled over the navigation span of the HWY 64 Bridge, NM 300.4, from 7 p.m. on August 16, 2025 to 7 a.m. on August 17, 2025. During this time mariners should contact the onsite workboat at VHF Channel 16 or 68, or by phone at (479) 629-2996 prior to arrival to coordinate a work stoppage to allow for safe passage under the bridge.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. 25-56 Lock 4 Tow Haulage Out of Service

    The tow haulage equipment at Emmett Sanders (No. 04) NM 66.0 is currently out of service due to ongoing work. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). A follow up notice will be distributed when the tow haulage equipment is back in service.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. 25-55 Sailing Instruction Lock 8 Downstream Approach

    Due to shoaling, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should favor the long wall in the downstream approach to Toad Suck Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9.
