About the Boundary Line Resolution Process
The boundary line resolution process is designed to address property boundary issues between private landowners and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Table Rock Lake. This process provides a formal mechanism to resolve uncertainties regarding the location of USACE property boundaries.
Important Information: This application initiates an expedited formal review process. USACE will conduct a thorough investigation of property records, historical documents, and conduct field surveys as necessary to resolve boundary line questions.
Property owners should consider submitting a Boundary Line Resolution application if they:
- Have uncertainty about the location of the USACE property line on their property
- Are planning construction or development near the suspected USACE boundary
- Have discovered potential boundary line issues or discrepancies in property records
- Need official clarification of boundary locations for real estate transactions
- Are experiencing conflicts related to property line locations
Once your application is submitted, the following process will occur:
- Initial Review: USACE staff will review your application to ensure it is complete
- Records Research: We will research historical property records, surveys, and acquisition documents
- Field Investigation: A USACE representative may need to conduct a site visit to your property
- Survey Work: Survey requirements will be dependent on the issue. USACE staff will discuss any survey requirements during consultations
- Resolution Letter: You will receive a formal determination letter with findings and boundary clarification
Application Fees
No fees are required to submit a boundary line resolution application. However, property owners may wish to obtain independent surveys or legal counsel at their own expense during this process.
