Program Overview

Although one of the Corps' primary missions is to support our military, most applicants are not required to have a service-related disability. This program is open to individuals with permanent physical disabilities that limit mobility or require physical assistance.

Eligibility Requirements

Level I Participants

Considered permanently "mobility impaired" or "non-ambulatory"

  • May receive priority over other applicants
  • Not required to be active duty military or disabled veterans
  • Must have permanent paralysis or amputation requiring assistive devices
  • If more applications than spots available, military affiliated applicants may receive priority

Level II Participants

Must be disabled military (active duty or veteran)

  • VA evaluated physical disability of 50% or greater
  • Disability must severely limit mobility
  • Priority given to higher disability percentages if oversubscribed

Medical Documentation Required

All applicants must provide signed physician verification of their disability level. Previous 2023-2024 participants may be eligible for self-certification. Contact the Hunt Application Coordinator if you have questions about your eligibility to self-certify.
