Special Hunting Opportunities for Disabled Veterans & Mobility Impaired Individuals
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District is proud to offer specialized deer hunting opportunities designed specifically for mobility impaired individuals and disabled military personnel. These hunts provide accessible hunting experiences with full support from dedicated staff and volunteers.

Program Overview
Although one of the Corps' primary missions is to support our military, most applicants are not required to have a service-related disability. This program is open to individuals with permanent physical disabilities that limit mobility or require physical assistance.
Eligibility Requirements
Level I Participants
Considered permanently "mobility impaired" or "non-ambulatory"
- May receive priority over other applicants
- Not required to be active duty military or disabled veterans
- Must have permanent paralysis or amputation requiring assistive devices
- If more applications than spots available, military affiliated applicants may receive priority
Level II Participants
Must be disabled military (active duty or veteran)
- VA evaluated physical disability of 50% or greater
- Disability must severely limit mobility
- Priority given to higher disability percentages if oversubscribed
Medical Documentation Required
All applicants must provide signed physician verification of their disability level. Previous 2023-2024 participants may be eligible for self-certification. Contact the Hunt Application Coordinator if you have questions about your eligibility to self-certify.

Hunt Location Details
Arkansas Post
Location: Merrisach Lake Park area, Southeast Arkansas Delta region
Terrain: Cedar/shrub thickets, bottomland hardwoods, wildlife food plots
Special Notes:
Bag Limit: Two deer (buck and doe or two does),
Accommodations: Camping & RV hookups available
Meals: Welcome lunch before safety briefing

Mountain Home - "The Jewel of Arkansas"
Location: Bull Shoals Lake, Ozark Isle (760 acres total)
Terrain: Towering hardwoods, aromatic cedar trees, lush food plots surrounded by crystal blue waters of Bull Shoals Lake
Services: Rangers retrieve, process, and de-bone harvested deer
Special Notes:
Chronic Wasting Disease Zone - bring a cooler for de-boning
Pop-up blinds used in a variety of settings

Clarksville
Location: Johnson County Waterfowl Rest Area within Clarksville city limits
Terrain: Bottomland hardwoods, pine plantations, wildlife openings, waterfowl ponds
Special Notes:
Located in CWD zone - bring cooler for de-boning,
Transportation: UTV transport to blinds (car/van accessible options available)
Meals: Hot meals provided throughout hunt duration
Gillham - "Bright Spot on the Cossatot"
Location: Lake Gillham on the Cossatot River
Terrain: Hardwood and pine timber mixed with food plots
Special Notes:
Services: Quartering and packing of harvested deer, ice provided
Meals: Hot meals provided daily

Greeson
Location: Lake Greeson WMA, Parker Creek Campground (15,000+ acres)
Special Notes:
Stands: Permanent wheelchair-accessible stands
Accommodations: Local businesses often donate motel rooms and cabins
Services: Transportation to/from stands, firearms available if needed, meals provided
Camping: Tent and camper sites available
Nimrod
Location: Ouachita Mountains, scenic Highway 7 area
Terrain: Remote mountain ridges, upland hardwood timber, green wildlife openings
Special Notes:
Accessibility: Improved roads and stands accommodate power chair users
Schedule: Two-day hunt with multiple hunting sessions
Services: Radio communication, quick deer retrieval and processing
Ouachita - "Diamond of the Vicksburg District"
Location: 40,000 acres surface water, 20,000 acres land surrounded by Ouachita National Forest
Special Notes:
Capacity: 3-4 hunters over 2-day span
Terrain: Gated/posted areas, closed campgrounds, remote food plots
Accessibility: All blinds wheelchair accessible, manual wheelchair backup recommended for electric chairs
Services: De-boning/quartering service, meals provided
