Teamwork and Innovation: The Little Rock District Team’s Remarkable Achievements

In a display of efficiency, innovation, and teamwork, the Southwestern Logistics team has completed projects that not only highlight their operational excellence but also provide significant financial and logistical benefits.

Supply Team's Recycling Triumph

The SWL supply team managed to recycle 60 unserviceable stop logs and scrap piles from the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System projects. These stop logs, over 4 feet tall, 50 feet long, and weighing 40,000 pounds each, were recycled in coordination with the Defense Logistics Agency, UNICOR, and local scrap companies. This effort resulted in the collection of over 27 tons of metal, adding $255,000 to the operating budget.

Additionally, the team transferred 26 serviceable stop logs to the Vicksburg District, filling a critical gap and saving the district over $100,000. This not only optimized resources but also strengthened inter-district collaboration.

Advancing Cyber Security and Inventory Management

The supply team assisted the Unified Cybersecurity Information Center in setting up a new cyber security hand receipt, incorporating over 2,000-line items and 100 sub-hand receipts, worth over $14 million. They also achieved 100% inventory completion by the end of the third quarter, ensuring comprehensive asset management and security.

Facilities Team Enhancements

The facilities team completed security upgrades to the MKARNS warehouse, valued at over $500,000, and constructed a new Mothers Room and break room. These projects were completed while team members were deployed and preparing for the Continuity of Operations Program, showcasing their ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Transportation Team's Sustainability Leadership

For two consecutive years, the SWL transportation team has led the Corps in alternative fuel usage. They also assisted the Southwestern Division (SWF) in completing the FY24 Command Accountability and Maintenance (CAM) due to emergency operations support for the Hawaii Wildfires.

SWL Team’s Exemplary Performance

The SWL team achieved a 98% score on the FY24 CLRP Inspection and provided flawless support during emergency operations, with six deployments for the Logistics Planning and Response Team (LPRT), Blue Roof, and Debris teams.

Conclusion

The SWL team’s recent accomplishments demonstrate their dedication, innovation, and teamwork. From enhancing security and operational efficiency to promoting sustainability and supporting emergency operations, their contributions significantly impact the Corps' mission.
