USA’s largest towboat returns to Arkansas River
The M/V Mississippi moves through the lock chamber at Murray Lock and Dam on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The view from the third story is the towboat’s bell with the Big Dam Bridge in the background. The Mississippi River Commission visited the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System Aug. 10 through 14 to perform a low-water inspection and meet with stakeholders onboard the Motor Vessel Mississippi, the largest towboat in the country and the official vessel of the MRC.
