On Watch
As Tropical Depression Cristobal moved across Arkansas, the Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was on high alert. In less than six months, the White River Basin saw 150% of its normal rainfall and many feared that severe floods were imminent. In the end, a great deal of rain fell, but the flood control reservoirs did their job and the White River was held in check.
