RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Site Office announced that Shoal Bay and Piney Bay swim beaches have been retested and officials have determined that it is safe for public use.

The swim beaches were temporarily closed because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.

According to Corps officials, the high bacteria levels could be from run-off following recent heavy rains.
